Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is M-F 8am–5pm; pediatric experience preferred. Must hold state phlebotomy certification and have 6 months to 2 years of venipuncture experience. Benefits are available.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data entry, and maintaining specimen integrity per protocols. Training and OSHA compliance are required.

Competenze

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Mansioni

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously, and demonstrates technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Understands physicians' orders and matches requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and transport to maintain integrity; follow OSHA regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer phone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
