Essenti Talent is seeking a Phlebotomist in Austin, TX for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent hire. The role requires pediatric venipuncture experience and a willingness to handle a range of routine lab duties.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry and specimen transport. The position runs M-F, 8am–5pm, with benefits available.

Competenze

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.

Mansioni

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order; package for transport.
• Store specimens per required temperature and protocol; comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
