Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling and transport.
• Store specimen samples per required temperatures and transport protocols; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and answer inquiries about lab results.
