6 Degrees Search in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule: M-F, 8am–5pm. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper handling. Pediatric venipuncture experience and phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Fully understand physicians' orders and match requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper temperature control.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay lab results to satisfy inquiries.
