Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to efficiently register patients for professional and hospital services.

You will collect co-pays, verify demographics, and ensure accurate insurance information at the time of service. Responsibilities include documenting data in HIS systems, assisting uninsured patients, and collaborating with the Financial Counselor to optimize patient access and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare, business or related field preferred.
• At least 1 year of related office or retail experience with direct customer contact.
• EMR experience preferred.
• AMPFM, Misys, or HIS platform experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication; professional demeanor; customer-focused.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and ICD-9/CPT codes; HIPAA privacy laws preferred.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish preferred.
• Follow payer or governmental requirements.

Responsabilités

• Register patients who are pre-registered and collect co-pays/deductibles.
• Document information accurately in the appropriate fields and systems.
• Answer phones and respond to questions promptly.
• Identify uninsured/underinsured patients and refer to Financial Counselor.
• Review patient account systems for unpaid liabilities.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, insurers, clinicians, and staff.
• Prioritize and monitor daily registration tasks to ensure timely, compliant processing.
• Participate in hospital education programs to maintain skills.
