Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. in Phoenix is seeking a PRN Patient Access Representative to register patients for professional and hospital services, collect co-pays, verify demographics, and confirm information at the time of service.

You will document data in EMR/HIS systems, coordinate with the Financial Counselor for uninsured patients, and maintain a courteous, patient-centered approach while traveling between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; required.
• 1 year of related office or retail experience with direct customer contact; required.
• EMR experience preferred; familiarity with AMPFM, Misys or HIS platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrives patients who present for services and collects co-pay and deductible amounts; obtain signatures.
• Document information accurately in the system; verify demographic and insurance data.
• Answer telephone courteously and resolve questions promptly.
• Refer uninsured/underinsured patients to Financial Counselor.
• Check patient account systems for unpaid liabilities.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, guarantors, insurers, and staff.
• Organize and monitor daily work to ensure timely registration.
• Participate in educational programs to maintain competency.
• Perform registration in HIS, verify insurance, obtain authorizations when needed.
