Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients efficiently, serve as the primary liaison, verify demographics and insurance, and collect co-pays and deductibles at the point of service.

This full-time role supports multiple sites, works with clinical and administrative teams, and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related office or retail experience including direct customer contact and service.
• EMR experience preferred.
• AMPFM, Misys, or HIS platform experience preferred.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Provider preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrives patients for registration and collects co-pay and deductible amounts; obtains necessary signatures from guarantor at time of registration.
• Documents information accurately in system and maintains demographic/insurance data.
• Answers phones politely and responds to questions promptly.
• Identifies uninsured/underinsured patients and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Checks patient accounts for prior unpaid liabilities as needed.
• Maintains positive relationships with patients, insurers, and staff to promote teamwork.
• Manages daily work to ensure complete, accurate registration in a timely manner.
• Participates in unit/hospital educational programs to maintain skills.
• Performs registration in HIS system and obtains prior authorizations when needed.
• Performs other duties as requested.
