Job summary

Thom Child & Family Services in Waltham, MA is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers and their families. The role partners with families to set IFSP goals, coordinate services, and support development across cognition, communication, and self-care.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts OT licensure required.
• 1 year EI experience preferred.
• Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
• Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with families.
• Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Abide by confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
• Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
• Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
• Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
• Partner with families in the development of IFSPs to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
• Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child’s development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
• Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.
• Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays.
