Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our early childhood team. You will evaluate, design, and deliver individualized OT services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, and motor skill needs.

Collaborate with daycare staff, families, and other clinicians to promote functional motor, self-care, and participation in daily routines through play-based therapy.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program is required.
• Active Alabama OT license or eligibility is required.
• NBCOT certification and CPR/BLS certification are required.
• Pediatric/early intervention experience is preferred (sensory processing background a plus).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate & assess developmental domains to establish baseline abilities and goals.
• Design care plans to improve classroom engagement and self-care.
• Execute targeted, play-based interventions focusing on motor and sensory skills.
• Educate and empower families and daycare staff on strategies and home carryover.
• Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes for each child.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including SLPs, PTs, and teachers.
