Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Medical Assistant to support outpatient pediatric care. The role involves phlebotomy, injections, ECGs, patient history, and electronic medical record documentation under RN/NP supervision.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant program completion, a High School Diploma, and 0–3 years of clinical experience. CMA/RMA preferred but not required; CPR/BLS certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
• 0–3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not required.
• Some college, preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication/listening skills and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed.
• Administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, intradermal injections and topical meds.
• Performs ECGs and places Holter monitors as needed.
• Supports clinic flow and assists providers and nursing staff.
• Documents data in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Assists with scheduling and check-in/check-out tasks.
• Obtains patient history and intake information.
• Maintains clinic supplies and cleanliness.
• Participates in required trainings including CPR.
