Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Medical Assistant for our outpatient clinic in Lincoln Park. The role supports Physicians and nursing staff, with duties spanning phlebotomy, injections, ECGs, specimen processing, and general clinic flow.

Ideal candidates will have a formal Medical Assistant program completion, a CMA or RMA preferred, and strong communication with pediatric patients and families. CPR/BLS certification is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program.
• 0–3 years of relevant clinical experience.
• CMA (AAMA) or RMA preferred but not required.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians and staff under RN/NP/Physician supervision.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed.
• Administer injections and eye/ear/nasal medications as appropriate.
• Document data in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Support scheduling, check-in/check-out, and patient intake.
• Maintain clinic supplies and high/low level disinfection protocols.
