Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Outpatient Center in Northbrook. You will perform phlebotomy, injections, ECGs, and patient intake under supervision, ensuring accurate EMR documentation and efficient clinic flow.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion, 3+ years of clinical experience, and BLS. CMA/RMA certification is preferred. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant program.
• 3+ years of relevant clinical experience.
• CMA (AAMA) or RMA certification preferred but not required.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent communication/listening skills; strong interpersonal abilities with pediatric patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing as directed.
• Administers injections and skin testing; administers medications and ophthalmic/nasal treatments as needed.
• Performs ECGs, places Holter monitors and downloads telemetry data.
• Maintains clinic flow and provides back-up administrative support (scheduling, check-in/out).
• Documents data in the Electronic Medical Record and maintains clinic areas and supplies.
