Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Nursing Assistant to work under an RN to provide care for pediatric patients across acute and chronic conditions. The role supports quality goals and family-centered care in a busy pediatric setting.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, vital signs, documentation in EHR, and assisting with procedures and transport. A high school diploma/GED and BLS certification are required, with 1:1 observation and safety protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED, plus completion of program leading to certification as Nursing Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under the direction of an RN.
• Orient families to the ambulatory clinic area.
• Take vital signs and document data in EMR or paper records.
• Perform point-of-care tests and assist with procedures.
• Assist with intra-hospital transport and patient comfort.
• Document care delivered and patient responses in the EHR.
