Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Night shift Patient Care Assistant in the Hematology/Oncology department. This part-time role involves 24 weekly hours with a 0.6 FTE, performing plan of care under RN supervision and assisting patients with daily activities.

The position emphasizes safe, compassionate patient care, documentation, and collaboration with the care team. Prior CNA/ACEN-credentialed rotation and CPR certification are required, with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with an eligible credential.
• Clinical rotation from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program, or equivalent.
• Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA with reciprocity if not in Ohio.
• Ohio or National EMS Registry listing.
• At least 1 year of patient care experience in the last 3 years.
• CPR training and maintenance of certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care: provide approved care and assist under RN supervision; supervise activities of daily living.
• Communication: document in medical record and communicate changes during shift handover.
• Environment: maintain safe, organized environment; follow infection control and safety policies.
• Administrative Support: respond to alarms, answer calls, assemble charts, stock supplies, assist in training.
