Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a medical assistant or EMT program or licensing confirmation that education is not required for certification.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• 1 year related experience preferred.
• National medical assistant certifications (CCMA, CMA-AAMA, CMA-C, NCMA, NRCMA, RMA variants, EMT etc.) may be required for certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in collecting patient/family data across biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, and environmental domains.
• Accurately records vital signs, BMI, height/weight, and visit reasons.
• Updates patient documentation with prior care locations, medications, allergies, and other information per protocol.
• Prepares patients for examinations and assists providers during treatments and testing.
• Documents and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the physician.
• Supports patient education and self-management strategies.
• Operates routine clinical equipment (thermometers, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, etc.).
• Undergoes respiratory fitness testing per safety standards.

Education

H.S. Diploma or GED

Medical Assistant or EMT program completion

BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)

One year related experience preferred

CCMA / CMA / NCMA / RMA (various certs)
