Job summary

Care for Kids is seeking Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) for our Houston offices to support urgent care, primary care, telemedicine, and SchoolMed services for children. CMAs will handle triage, EMR documentation in eMDs, and assist providers with procedures, vaccines, phlebotomy, and imaging.

Qualifications

• CMA or LVN with Texas license is required.
• Experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years (min 6 months).
• BLS certification is required (online renewal accepted).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients on arrival and prepare for provider evaluation.
• Communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, summarize symptoms and vitals.
• Document visits in the EMR system (eMDs).
• Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, vaccines, phlebotomy, and radiology.
• Administer and document medications as directed by the provider.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
• Obtain lab samples and follow up with patients on results.
• Provide patient education at visit completion and address follow-up questions.
• Front desk duties: insurance verification, patient registration, phone handling, and payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
