Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care with a focus on family-centered pediatric services. The role requires a BSN or progress toward it within 5 years, active Ohio RN licensure, and BLS certification.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of experience and strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Responsibilities include planning and directing care, supporting a collaborative team, and participating in quality improvement and informatics

Qualifications

• BSN required or obtained within 5 years from date of hire
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Licensed RN in Ohio required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• No supervisory experience required

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties
• Deliver patient-centered care
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Educate and mentor staff; may precept new employees
• Engage in evidence-based practice activities
• Collaborate with provider staff to ensure efficient operation and high-quality pediatric care
• Engage in informatics and technology duties
• Be flexibly assigned within Akron Children's Hospital to meet patient needs
• Perform other duties as required
