Job summary

Akron Children's seeks an experienced RN leader to provide nursing care and staff guidance for clinical issues at the site. This full-time, on-site role emphasizes teamwork, quality care, and compassionate service for pediatric patients.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, an Ohio RN license, BLS, and a Multistate License; at least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred. You will precept new staff, mentor clinicians, and participate in education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BSN degree is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Active RN license in Ohio required; MSL within 90 days if providing telenursing or care outside Ohio.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Supports provider staff and promotes efficient operation and quality care for pediatric patients using a team approach.
• Precepts new employees and acts as a mentor to the clinical staff.
• Provides patient assessment as required.
• Participates in the development education for all staff members for clinically related issues.
• Assesses clinical competency and participates in evaluations of the clinical staff, at 90 days and annually.
• Works with patients and families to advocate for health maintenance and positive public image.
• Demonstrates care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Provides consultations and requests consults as directed; assists discharge planning.
• Other duties as required.
