Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital in Twinsburg, OH, seeks a part-time Behavioral Health Technician I for the inpatient pediatric behavioral health unit. Shift: 7pm–7:30am, two 12-hour shifts, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends/holidays, 24 hours per week.

Under RN supervision, you assist with assessments, direct care, groups, safety, and documentation, while collaborating with the treatment team. Requires BLS, HS diploma, and 0–2 years of experience; undergraduate study in related fields preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience
• BLS certification required
• Current enrollment in relevant undergraduate degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect data and contribute to care planning and evaluation
• Provide direct care under RN supervision
• Lead or co-lead psychoeducational and therapeutic activities
• Document in the medical record according to policy
• Encourage ADL participation and maintain safety
• Communicate observations to the treatment team
• Manage crisis situations using positive approaches
• Conduct safety rounds and monitor milieu
