Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I for the inpatient behavioral health unit. You will support care for children and adolescents aged 5-17 under RN supervision, participate in educational and therapeutic activities, and help maintain a safe clinical environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), BLS certification, and the ability to work 7pm–7:30am with rotating weekends/holidays. Onsite at the Ravenna facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Undergraduate enrollment in counseling, psychology, social work or related field preferred.
• Associate degree preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and contributes to the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of individual care.
• Provides direct care in accordance with hospital policy and RN delegation.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups.
• Document in medical records according to policy.
• Encourage patients to perform activities of daily living.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
