Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital in Streetsboro, OH, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician I for the inpatient behavioral health unit. This part-time role (24 hours/week) supports nursing staff, cares for children aged 5-17, and participates in safety and therapeutic activities under RN supervision.

You will assist with data collection, participate in groups, document in the medical record, and help maintain a calm milieu. Basic BLS certification preferred; 0–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; pursuing counseling/psychology/related field preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation under RN supervision.
• Provide direct care to patients as delegated, and support nurse and staff.
• Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups.
• Document in the medical record according to policy.
• Encourage patients with activities of daily living and safety.
