Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who excel in business development and technical leadership. This seller-doer role blends client acquisition with engineering review, sealing reports, and coordinating field and lab activities.

You bring relationships and a stamp; the company provides laboratory, field staff, and a quality system. You will manage client relations, scope and price proposals, sign work, and represent the firm at meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibilities.
• Track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan for market development.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients — general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms — for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, resolve failing tests, and seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on your projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
