Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Utah seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable pitching a testing program in a contractor's office as they review a compaction report or seal geotechnical letters.

You will develop and maintain a client book for materials testing, scope and price proposals, negotiate terms, and convert opportunities into signed work. You will serve as engineer of record and coordinate with the lab while traveling to client offices and sites.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the posting state (or by comity within 90 days).
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win and review field and laboratory data.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
