Job summary

KLJ is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Great Falls, MT, to lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and manage projects from scope to client relationships. The role requires a PE license, 6+ years of experience, and strong modeling skills across industry-standard tools.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure designs comply with regulations while delivering high-quality results for stormwater, flood mitigation, and conveyance systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Active PE license.
• 6+ years water resources engineering experience.
• Strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and modeling tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Task Lead and/or Project Manager for hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resource projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality control.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients throughout all project phases.
• Monitor project progress and address technical and scheduling challenges.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
