Job summary

KLJ is seeking a Water Resources Engineer in Colorado with a PE license and strong leadership experience. You will lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, manage scope, budget, and client relationships, and mentor junior staff on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating with teams, applying models in HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, and ensuring regulatory compliance across transportation, municipal, and water resources works.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active PE license required.
• 6+ years water resources engineering experience.
• Strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Proficiency with engineering software and modeling tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Task Lead and/or Project Manager for hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resource projects.
• Lead teams to develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models.
• Evaluate drainage systems, floodplain impacts, culvert sizing, and stormwater strategies.
• Review calculations, reports, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with internal teams and clients.
