Job summary

KLJ in Farmington, NM is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with a PE license to lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, mentor staff, and manage project scope, schedule, and budget.

You will guide teams, develop models with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and related tools, ensure compliance, and build client relationships while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions.

A strong background in stormwater, flood mitigation, and infrastructure design is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6+ years water resources engineering experience.
• Strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and modeling tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Technical Task Lead and/or Project Manager for hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resource projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality control.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients throughout all project phases.
• Monitor project progress and address technical and scheduling challenges.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Review work products for technical accuracy and consistency.
