Job summary

KLJ is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with a current PE license to lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses on infrastructure projects in Santa Fe, NM. You will serve as Technical Task Lead and Project Manager, mentoring staff and coordinating with clients and subconsultants to deliver scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities include leading modeling with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, TR-55, HydroCAD, HY-8, SRH-2D, InfoDrainage, and OpenRoads Drainage; ensuring regulatory compliance; and developing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 6+ years water resources engineering experience.
• Strong background in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Proficiency with industry-standard modeling tools.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical leadership for advanced hydrologic and hydraulic analyses on infrastructure projects.
• Lead teams to develop and apply hydrologic and hydraulic models with industry tools.
• Evaluate drainage, floodplain impacts, culvert sizing, and stormwater strategies.
• Mentor junior staff and review calculations, reports, plans, and estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Serve as Technical Task Lead and/or Project Manager for hydrologic, hydraulic, and water resource projects.
• Manage scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality control.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients through all project phases.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; participate in proposals and fee estimation.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and support business growth.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
