Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Arizona to design and document Battery Energy Storage Systems with peers from civil, structural, FLS, and other disciplines. You will develop detailed designs, reports, and construction packages for grid-scale projects and support clients with technology and vendor selection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• PE license and strong knowledge of NEC/IEEE codes.
• 3+ years in design of BESS, distributed generation, renewables, or power systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM and EasyPower.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Support grid-scale BESS projects with layouts, one-line diagrams, and design packages.
• Evaluate energy storage technologies and assist with vendor selection.
• Develop electrical designs for microgrid and distributed energy resources.
• Prepare technical reports and coordinate with civil, structural, FLS, and other engineers.
• Mentor junior team members and provide construction phase support.
