Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to support battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related power projects. You will work with civil, structural, and electrical teams to deliver complete design packages for construction and client proposals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board is required.
Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
Experience with BESS, power generation, renewables, or distribution projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from early design through construction package completion.
Evaluate energy storage tech, vendors, and support microgrid/distributed resources projects.
Develop and review design plans, specs, cost estimates, and construction documents at design milestones.
Coordinate with engineers across disciplines to finalize construction packages for BESS projects.
Prepare technical reports conveying BESS concepts, use-cases, and feasibility study results.
