Job summary

Role Description

As a PCS Inverter R&D Engineer at Solarbridge Technology Inc., you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving power conversion systems (PCS) and inverter architectures for ESS applications. You will conduct hands-on research and development, build and refine prototypes, perform system-level simulations, and support product validation activities in the lab. Daily work includes creating test plans, executing performance and reliability tests, documenting results, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate technical findings into product enhancements. You will work closely with product management and manufacturing to ensure designs meet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and cost targets. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Dallas, TX, with a mix of on-site laboratory and office work and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills for modeling, simulation, and performance evaluation of power conversion and inverter systems.
  • Research and Development (R&D) experience focused on PCS, inverters, or related power electronics technologies.
  • Hands-on testing skills, including test setup, instrumentation use, data collection, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
  • Research and product development abilities to move concepts from feasibility studies through prototyping into production-ready designs.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a closely related field.
  • Knowledge of power electronics topologies, control systems, grid-tied inverters, and ESS integration is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulatory requirements for grid-connected power systems and ESS safety.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as SPICE-based simulators, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar modeling and analysis software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate technical information clearly.
