Job summary

Nextpower seeks an Application Engineer to support solar inverter and PCS projects in North America. You will work with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Service, and customers to ensure proper application of power conversion systems in solar and energy storage projects.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years in related roles, with strong knowledge of inverters, PCS, and grid-connected systems. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in applications engineering or related roles.
• Experience with solar inverters, PCS, and BESS.
• Strong ability to read drawings, specs, and compliance docs.
• Clear communication with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support for solar and battery storage products.
• Review customer requirements and project specifications.
• Propose inverter and PCS configurations per project.
• Prepare technical documentation and submittals.
• Support system integration discussions with EPCs and utilities.
• Assist with troubleshooting and field support coordination.
• Coordinate handoff from sales to project execution and operations.
