Job summary

Nextpower seeks an Application Engineer to support solar inverter and PCS projects in North America. You will analyze customer requirements, propose inverter/PCS configurations, and coordinate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to ensure proper system integration in solar and energy storage deployments.

The role demands strong technical knowledge of power electronics, grid interconnection, and field support. Occasional travel and collaboration across multiple teams are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems, or related field; Master’s degree is a bonus.
• 3+ years of applications engineering, utility-scale renewable/BESS project engineering, product/R&D engineering, systems engineering, field engineering, or technical support.
• Experience with solar inverters, PCS, battery energy storage systems, power electronics, electrical equipment, or grid-connected energy systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support for power conversion products in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage applications in North American markets.
• Support Sales and Technical Sales teams during customer engagements, project development, RFP/RFQ responses, and technical proposal preparation.
• Review customer requirements, project specifications, single-line diagrams, site conditions, interconnection requirements, and product application needs.
• Propose inverter and battery PCS configurations based on project requirements, system architecture, ratings, operating conditions, and compliance needs.
• Prepare and support technical documentation including compliance matrices, product data, application notes, technical responses, drawings, and customer submittals.
