Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, Texas is seeking a Manager, PCBA SMT Production (Starlink) to build and lead a new production organization for the User Terminal Kit facility. You will establish standards, recruit and develop talent, and partner with engineering to startup and scale production.

You will drive safety, quality, lead time, and cost improvements, and manage a multi-shift team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM field OR 4+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of production operations or process development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates on a multi-shift schedule.
• Ensure a strong focus on safety and maintain an excellent safety record.
• Identify, recruit, and develop leadership and individual contributor talent.
• Develop onboarding and training material.
• Implement a development program to enhance capability while improving quality, lead time and cost.
• Establish operational standards and hold accountability to those standards.
• Partner with engineering teams on startup and optimization of production equipment.
• Champion continuous improvement projects using relevant metrics and data sources.
• Ensure root causes for quality issues are identified and actions are taken.
• Monitor and communicate area status and risks to leadership.
• Foster collaboration within and between departments.
