Job summary

SpaceX is building a new production organization at the Bastrop, Texas facility to operate and maintain advanced manufacturing equipment. You will lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and assemblers across multiple shifts, establishing safety-driven standards and driving the startup toward a disciplined production flow.

This role requires technical leadership, rapid SME capability across complex processes, and a track record of Lean improvements in high-output environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM OR 4+ years of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of production operations or process development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates on a multi-shift schedule.
• Ensure a strong focus on safety and maintain an excellent safety record.
• Identify, recruit, and develop leadership and individual contributor talent.
• Develop onboarding and training material.
• Implement a development program to enhance capability of all team members with a focus on manufacturing outputs, while improving quality and reducing lead time and cost.
• Establish operational standards and hold accountability to those standards.
• Partner with engineering teams on the startup and optimization of production equipment.
• Champion continuous improvement projects using relevant metrics and data sources.
• Ensure root causes for quality issues are identified and appropriate improvement actions are put in place.
• Monitor and communicate area status and risks to leadership.
• Foster a spirit of collaboration within and between departments.
