Job summary

SpaceX Bastrop, Texas is expanding a new PCBA SMT production line for Starlink, seeking a hard‑driving manager to build and scale a multidisciplinary production organization. You will recruit, train and lead supervisors, technicians and operators, establish standards and partner with engineering to startup and optimize equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or STEM discipline; OR 4+ years of professional leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of production operations or process development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates on a multi-shift schedule
• Ensure a strong focus is placed on safety and maintain an excellent safety record
• Identify, recruit, and develop leadership and individual contributor talent
• Develop onboarding and training material
• Implement a development program to enhance the capability of all team members with a focus on manufacturing outputs, while improving quality and reducing lead time and cost
• Establish operational standards and hold accountability to those standards
• Partner with engineering teams on the startup and optimization of production equipment
• Champion continuous improvement projects using relevant metrics and data sources
• Ensure root causes for quality issues are identified and appropriate improvement actions are put in place
• Monitor and communicate area status and risks to leadership
• Foster a spirit of collaboration within and between departments
