Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to own Starlink PCBA production in Bastrop, TX. You will lead the manufacturing team, drive process development, and partner with design and production to scale high-volume PCBA manufacturing.

You will oversee SMT, post-processing, testing, and DFT/DFM practices, mentor engineers, manage documentation, and optimize layouts and tooling for throughput and quality in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor of science in aerospace, mechanical, systems, electrical, or manufacturing engineering.
3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience.
Master's degree in an engineering discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers and specialists for the Starlink PCBA manufacturing team.
Responsible for SMT, post-processing, and testing processes.
Implement plug-and-play processes for high-volume throughput (3M+ per year).
Align department initiatives with manufacturing engineering goals.
Lead the manufacturing development strategy for quality, delivery, and cost.
Maintain and update technical documentation and records.
Mentor engineers and interns and evaluate project scope and resources.
Recruitment activities for the team.
Optimize production layout for material flow from receiving to line.
Oversee tooling, inventory, training, and build processes per latest design configuration.
Influence design for manufacturability and test.
