Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manager, PCBA SMT Production (Starlink) in Bastrop, TX to build and lead a new production organization for the User Terminal Kit facility. You will assemble a team, establish standards, and guide the startup through disciplined production and continuous improvement.

The role requires an engineering or STEM background and 3+ years leading production ops, with lean, quality, safety, and collaboration across functions. Extended hours and travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM or 4+ years of leadership in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of production operations or process development experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates on a multi-shift schedule.
• Ensure a strong focus on safety and maintain an excellent safety record.
• Identify, recruit, and develop leadership and individual contributor talent.
• Develop onboarding and training material.
• Implement a development program to enhance capability, quality, lead time and cost.
• Establish operational standards and hold accountability to those standards.
• Partner with engineering teams on startup and optimization of production equipment.
• Champion continuous improvement projects using data and metrics.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement improvements.
• Monitor area status and risks to leadership; foster cross-department collaboration.
