Job summary

Spectra-Tech Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a hands-on assembler to perform high-precision hand assembly on circuit boards using detailed instructions. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and adherence to IPC-A-610 standards within a manufacturing setting.

The position offers starting pay of $15.50/hour, a $500 hiring/retention bonus, and a $100 monthly Perfect Attendance Award, with early Friday departures and a stable, on-site team environment in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; on-the-job training provided.
• Experience preferred in production assembly environment; Spectra-Tech will train as needed.
• Proven ability to follow written work instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hand components on pre-/post-surface mount boards per instructions.
• Read IPC-A-610 standards and apply shop drawings and documentation.
• Check polarity and orientation of thru-hole components as indicated.
• Identify designators and silk-screen references for correct placement.
• Verify part values and correct locations before final assembly.
• Operate basic tools and equipment required for assembly and depaneling.
• Support continuous improvement and follow documented processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned on the production line.
• Maintain focus on quality, safety, and teamwork on the floor.

Off at NOON every FRIDAY!

Hours: M-Th 6:00am - 3:15pm, Fri 6:00am - 12:00pm

Starting Pay: $15.50/hour

Summary:

Perform hand assembly work on pre-/post-surface mount circuit boards by following detailed written work instructions.

Responsibilities/ Principal Duties:

• Basic understanding and application of the IPC-A-610 standards.
• Ability to read and apply shop documentation according to applicable assembly drawings.
• Identify and read the values, correct polarity, and orientation of thru-hole components.
• Identify the orientation and polarity of components according to the printed circuit board’s reference designators and silk screen for thru-hole component placement.
• Verify thru-hole part values and correct part location placement.
• Utilize basic equipment necessary to complete the product’s final assembly including hand tools, electronic cutters, PCB depaneling equipment, automatic screw guns and feeders, pneumatic dispensing equipment, and/or other required tools per application.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: prefer experience with production assembly process - Spectra-Tech will train as needed.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Job requires prolonged sitting, standing and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching. Manual dexterity is crucial in the placement and handling of thru-hole components. Good eyesight is necessary for identifying components and their placement. Occasional light lifting will be required.

Equipment: Training will be given in the use of production equipment.

Work Environment: Job functions will be performed in and around production.

This position requires a pre-employment background check and drug test.
