Job summary

Spectra-Tech Manufacturing Inc. is hiring an Electronics Test Operator. The role performs functional testing of PCBs and electronic products using custom test equipment, maintaining strict test procedures and traceability.

Training is provided for those with attention to detail and a willingness to learn. Hours are Mon-Thu 6:00am-3:15pm and Fri 6:00am-12:00pm, with a $17.00/hr starting pay and a $500 signing/retention bonus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; electronics testing experience helpful but not required.
• Training will be provided to learn to use digital multimeters, fixtures, and test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow test procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing and verification of PCBs and electronic products.
• Operate test equipment, fixtures, meters, and computers.
• Connect boards to test equipment following established procedures.
• Follow instructions, drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Record test results and traceability data.
• Identify and label assemblies that fail testing.
• Communicate failures to Production, Engineering, or Quality personnel.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and setup verification.
• Maintain testing equipment and workstations in good condition.
• Adhere to ESD, electrical safety, and quality procedures.

This position is eligible for a $500.00 hiring/retention bonus!

Off work EVERY FRIDAY at NOON!

Hours: M-Th, 6:00am-3:15pm; F 6:00am-12:00pm

Starting Pay: $17.00/hr.

Position Summary

The Electronics Test Operator is responsible for performing functional testing and verification of printed circuit board assemblies and other electronic products. This position uses custom test equipment, test fixtures, meters, computers, and other electronic testing tools to verify that assemblies operate correctly and meet customer and company requirements. Previous electronics testing or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. The company is willing to train a dependable individual who demonstrates strong attention to detail, basic technical ability, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing and verification of printed circuit board assemblies and electronic products.
• Operate custom electronic test equipment, test fixtures, meters, computers, and other testing tools.
• Connect circuit boards and assemblies to test equipment according to established procedures.
• Follow test instructions, work instructions, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Apply power to electronic assemblies and monitor equipment safely during testing.
• Verify voltages, resistance, continuity, current, signals, outputs, and other required operating characteristics.
• Compare test results to established acceptance criteria.
• Identify, document, and clearly label assemblies that do not pass testing.
• Separate passing and nonconforming products to prevent mix-ups.
• Accurately record test results, serial numbers, failure information, and other required traceability data.
• Communicate test failures, recurring problems, and equipment concerns to appropriate Production, Engineering, or Quality personnel.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting by repeating tests, checking connections, and verifying test setups as instructed.
• Maintain test equipment, fixtures, cables, and workstations in a clean and organized condition.
• Report damaged, malfunctioning, or out-of-calibration test equipment.
• Handle circuit boards and electronic components according to ESD-control requirements.
• Follow all electrical safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Complete required training and demonstrate competency in assigned testing operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous electronics testing, electronics assembly, or manufacturing experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of electrical or electronic concepts is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Ability to learn how to use digital multimeters, custom test fixtures, computers, and other electronic test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow test procedures accurately.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and test documentation.
• Basic computer, math, and documentation skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to recognize abnormal equipment operation and report concerns promptly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Dependable attendance and a willingness to learn are required.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an electronic manufacturing environment.
• Regular use of electronic test equipment, computers, meters, fixtures, cables, and hand tools is required.
• The position may require extended periods of sitting or standing while performing repetitive testing operations.
• Must have sufficient visual ability, with or without corrective lenses, to read equipment displays, component markings, and test instructions.
• Must be able to handle printed circuit boards, test cables, and small electronic components carefully.
• Must follow ESD, electrical safety, machine safety, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• May occasionally be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Training

The company will provide training in product testing, test equipment operation, test procedures, ESD controls, electrical safety, documentation requirements, and company quality procedures. The employee must successfully complete required training and demonstrate the ability to perform assigned testing safely and accurately before working independently.
