Job summary

Laramie County is seeking an IT Technician to provide frontline technical support for staff, diagnose hardware and software issues, and assist with system maintenance. You will work under supervision to resolve problems and document outcomes.

Responsibilities include installing and upgrading computers and peripherals, supporting network devices, and training users on software applications while ensuring safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year experience in systems maintenance or end-user support.
• Knowledge of County policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of standard County applications, operating systems, and other software and hardware unique to Laramie County.
• Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques in a networked environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support, training and assistance to staff; analyzes problems and implements solutions.
• Respond to service requests and calls for assistance; document call records and results.
• Perform computer trouble-shooting to diagnose system problems and repair issues within scope of authority.
• Install, repair, configure and upgrade user computers, peripherals, laptops, and communications equipment.
• Maintain and update computer systems; install software upgrades and document work performed.
• Assist in installation of network and communications devices; check wiring and connectivity for safety and reliability.
• Train users on software applications usage and prepare technical documentation.
