Job summary

Laramie County Government seeks an IT Technician to provide front-line technical support for County staff and manage hardware, software and network-related tasks. You will troubleshoot, repair and install computers and peripherals, document issues, and assist with system maintenance and backups.

The role requires strong customer service, communication skills and the ability to train users on applications. On-site work with county policies and OSHA guidelines is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and 1 year systems maintenance or end-user support experience.
• Ability to complete criminal history and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and training to County staff per IT procedures.
• Respond to service requests, diagnose problems and resolve or escalate as needed.
• Perform computer troubleshooting and repair hardware/software issues.
• Install, configure and upgrade computers, peripherals and communications equipment.
• Maintain and update computer systems and document work performed.
• Assist in network and communications device installation and verify connectivity.
• Monitor backups and assist with system maintenance and safety compliance.
• Train users on software applications and prepare technical documentation.
