Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a PC/Equipment Support Technician to plan, install, configure, and maintain desktop workstations and related equipment for Genesee Intermediate School District.

Role requires a minimum of three years' help desk or field service experience, strong troubleshooting, and knowledge of Windows, Office, Active Directory and Exchange. Travel to district sites may be required; A+/MCP certification is expected or considered as an equivalent by education/experience.

Qualifications

• A+ and/or MCP certification required; education and experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
• Minimum three years' experience supporting desktop computers in a help desk or field service environment.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and workstation support skills.
• Current knowledge of Windows, MS Office and Active Directory.
• Ability to pass proficiency testing and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Windows XP.
• Working knowledge of MS Exchange, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and Internet.
• Strong written and oral communication, teamwork and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan, install, configure and maintain PC workstations, peripherals and related equipment.
• Maintain workstation inventory and documentation.
• Evaluate and recommend workstation technologies to the Technical Services Supervisor.
• Install and configure workstation hardware/software per specs and quality standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve and repair hardware/software problems.
• Coordinate replacement/upgrade needs with supervisor across departments.
• Provide intake, tracking and resolution within the Helpdesk system.
• Implement preventive maintenance per manufacturer specs and district guidelines.
• Coordinate registration of maintenance agreements with manufacturers for warranty coverage.
• Develop specs and guidelines for a Common Office Environment with the supervisor.
• Ensure equipment is installed according to timelines and helpdesk priorities.
• Uphold Win-Win leadership in interactions.
