Job summary

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolve Tier 1 questions, and handle employment verification requests with utmost discretion.

You will triage and dispatch cases, document activity, and collaborate with Payroll Operations, Payroll Tax, HR, Legal, and Time & Labor to ensure timely resolution within established SLAs. This hybrid role supports associates across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• One to three years of customer service, payroll support, HR shared services, human resources, timekeeping, or related administrative experience.
• Experience using case management, ticketing, payroll, or timekeeping systems preferred.
• Experience in handling confidential employee information and service level expectations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide first point of contact for payroll-related inquiries and support requests from associates, managers, HR, and external parties.
• Resolve Tier 1 payroll inquiries related to pay, deductions, direct deposit, taxes, timekeeping, and payroll calendars.
• Document case activity, research steps, outcomes, and communications clearly and consistently.
• Escalate sensitive or urgent issues to appropriate payroll teams or leadership.
• Review, triage, and route cases to Payroll Operations, Payroll Tax, or Time & Labor; monitor queues and SLA adherence.
