Tarrant County College District (TCCD) is seeking a Specialist, Payroll to compile payroll data and maintain accurate payroll records for district employees. The role involves calculating wages, taxes, deductions, and updating master records with changes.

The position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll practices, and the ability to handle confidential information. The role reports to the DT Finance & Accounting department and is not remote.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years’ related experience.
• Associate's degree or 60 college hours preferred.
• Experience with automated payroll, HRIS, or ERP systems preferred.
• Experience in a college or university setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and deductions from time sheets and records.
• Prepares input forms, enters data, and computes wages and deductions for payroll records.
• Reviews wages and corrects errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
• Records changes affecting net wages (exemptions, insurance, loans) in master payroll records.
• Sets up wage attachments and garnishments per IRS and related agencies.
• Processes data for new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and LWOP.
• Prorates expenses to departments for cost accounting records.
• Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Keeps records of leave pay and non-taxable wages.
• Assists with distribution of W-2 forms and prepares payments.
