Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP seeks a Payroll Specialist to provide direct payroll support to clients and maintain in-depth payroll knowledge. You will manage client relationships under supervision and escalate issues promptly for resolution.

Your role includes processing payrolls, updating records, and preparing earnings/tax reports, while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy across multiple client accounts. Proficiency with ADP and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable.
• Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment serving multiple clients.
• Ability to provide exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and consulting to payroll clients.
• Understand payroll deeply and stay current on payroll laws.
• Manage client relationships under supervision, escalating issues as needed.
• Ensure client payroll information is accurate in their payroll system.
• Process payrolls to meet deadlines, update records, calculate bonuses or severance, review tax calculations, reconcile deposits.
• Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.
• Establish strong client relationships and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide technical software support and identify opportunities to expand services.
• Assist implementation team and train clients on payroll processes.
• Mentor new hires and share knowledge with colleagues.
