Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a Payroll Specialist to provide direct support and consulting to our payroll clients. You will understand payroll deeply, stay current on payroll practices and laws, and manage client relationships under supervision while escalating as needed.

You will collaborate with the implementation team when required, train clients on payroll processes, and help identify opportunities to expand services.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with ADP software platforms desirable.
• Working knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Highly detail oriented and focused on accuracy
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to effectively work in a deadline driven environment serving multiple clients
• Ability to provide exceptional client service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately and professionally communicates with all levels
• Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
• Ability to learn from experiences and integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and consulting to payroll clients.
• Manage client relationships under supervision and escalate issues when needed.
• Ensure client payroll information is accurate within specific payroll system.
• Review and process payrolls to meet client deadlines, update records, calculate/paying bonuses or severance, verify tax calculations, and reconcile deposits.
• Prepare reports of earnings, taxes, deductions, and employer contributions.
• Establish strong client relationships by effectively consulting on payroll matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee data and communicate clearly.
• Provide technical software support to clients and identify out-of-scope work
• Identify opportunities to expand services to clients.
• Be an additional resource to the implementation team and train clients on payroll processes.
