Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Charlotte, NC to manage payroll processing across multiple entities and pay groups, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will validate timesheets and employee data, resolve discrepancies, prepare payroll reports, and support tax filings, year-end processing, W-2s, garnishments, and multi-state compliance.

Collaborate with Finance and HR to implement process improvements and maintain controls while upholding confidentiality of payroll records.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance preferred.
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience processing multi-state payroll and multiple pay groups preferred.
• UKG Ready experience preferred; Paylocity experience is also a plus.
• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and resolve payroll issues.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and improve payroll processes.

Responsibilities

• Process and review bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll for multiple entities.
• Validate timesheets, employee data, wages, deductions, and payroll changes for accuracy.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Prepare payroll reports and support payroll reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, W-2s, garnishments, and multi-state compliance.
• Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
• Partner with Finance and HR on payroll updates and changes.
• Identify and implement payroll process improvements and maintain procedures and controls.
