We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a strong background in multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax compliance. This role is ideal for someone with 3–7 years of experience who has managed payroll for a mid-sized to large employee population (500+ employees) and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly or bi-weekly multi-state payroll for a primarily non-exempt workforce (500+ employees)
  • Prepare and process off-cycle payments as needed
  • Support the Finance team with payroll-related reporting and data requests
  • Partner with HR generalists and department managers to ensure timely and accurate updates to employee records
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Assist with the administration and processing of wage garnishments
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Tax team to assist in research and filings
  • Perform other payroll-related duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–7 years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state payroll and tax compliance
  • Experience processing payroll for a company with 500+ employees
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll tax principles and compliance practices
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Professional, dependable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Team-oriented and adaptable to shifting priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Oracle or similar payroll/HRIS systems
  • APA certification (FPC or CPP)
  • Experience working closely with Finance and Tax departments
