Job summary

Genuine Search Group in New York, NY is seeking an experienced payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll processes using UltiPro in a high-volume environment.

You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, support audits, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve payroll inquiries; CPP/FPC preferred and U.S. wage laws knowledge essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
• 7+ years of multi-state payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with multi-entity payroll structures (multiple FEINs) preferred.
• CPP or FPC certification strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and garnishments.
• Experience with UltiPro required.
• Experience with IBM Cognos BI is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll using UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage payroll transactions, including: New hires, terminations, transfers, compensation, job changes, garnishments, and deductions
• Reconcile and validate payroll data prior to submission
• Process special payrolls, including bonuses and year-end adjustments
• Partner with internal teams to resolve payroll-related inquiries
• Respond to employee questions related to pay, taxes, deductions, and leave balances
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues and escalations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Support audits and respond to inquiries from government agencies
• Manage multiple priorities while meeting strict payroll deadlines
