Job summary

Focused Business Partners is seeking a Sales Consultant in Sugar Land, TX to grow our client base for payroll and HR solutions. You will identify, engage, and convert small and midsize businesses, building relationships through consultative selling and hands-on service.

You will lead outbound campaigns, conduct meetings, and leverage our high-touch model to move prospects toward a clear next step. A successful candidate has 2+ years in B2B sales, strong communication, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a sales role, preferably in PEO, payroll, HR services, insurance, or a related B2B field.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals through proactive prospecting.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with comfort leading in-person and virtual meetings.
• Ability to build rapport quickly and manage relationships with business owners and decision-makers.
• Self-motivated with strong time-management and organizational skills, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Initiate outbound calling campaigns to open new business conversations and build a consistent, qualified pipeline of prospective clients.
• Cultivate new relationships through in-person visits and face-to-face introductions with target businesses in the local market.
• Represent Focused Business Partners at Chamber of Commerce events, industry conferences, and professional networking functions to build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Lead client-facing meetings, delivering polished, persuasive presentations of our payroll and HR solutions and guiding prospects toward a clear next step.
• Develop and execute additional outreach strategies, including referrals, email campaigns, and social outreach, to maintain a consistent flow of qualified meetings.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of prospecting activity, scheduled meetings, and deal progress within the CRM.
• Partner with internal implementation and client services teams to ensure a seamless transition and onboarding experience for new clients.
• Maintain current knowledge of PEO industry trends to engage prospects as a credible, trusted advisor.
• Consistently meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets and activity benchmarks.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
